B7 A4 keys have rechargeable batteries that charge as you drive with the key in the ignition (this was very common on German cars in the aughts). Never heard of anybody replacing the battery but maybe by now it’s a common failure point?

Oops I didn’t realize that battery picture was actually in the ad  I’m guessing this might have proximity entry and start? Otherwise I am pretty sure it would be rechargeable (at least that’s how my B7 and my E46 both had it).

My M3 has a replaceable battery, my 328i does not. Difference is that the M3 has comfort access and the 3 does not.

Never heard of a rechargeable battery on the B7, mine use CR2032 batteries (also commonly used on motherboard ) which are not rechargeable and quite cheap .
